The table we were seated at was so dark we could neither see the menu nor our food. The waiters commented on how dark it was jokingly and gave us an additional small candle to view the menu. Why would we be seated here knowing it was incredibly dark? đ I couldnât see the food when it was brought out to us. I used my phone camera light to see what I was eating. The ceviche and pork shank were meh. Shrimp did not taste fresh and pork shark had a lot of fat on it, flavors were not sitting right. The waiters were kind, but being that the place was nearly empty I still found it out to be seated in a dark corner when many other tables were better lit and open. Odd experience overall.
Love love love it here. It feels so tropical and the music really gets you feeling like youâre in the Caribbean. Food was excellent! Service was excellent. Atmosphere was fun, inviting, and did I mention tropical? Makes me want to jump on a plane and go sit out on the Caribbean beach with drink in hand. Oh, drinks were really good too. They make their own sangria and YUM!
Wanna feel like you got away from Washington? Maybe check out this place!
Oh I almost forgotâŠyou can play pool and have a round of golf! The place is huge!!
We had an extremely concerning first visit to this restaurant on Friday, December 29 at 6:30 PM. We made a reservation as we had never been here before. My husband and myself arrived first at about 6:15. Our table was ready so they went ahead and sat us both. We decided that we would get a drink and a few appetizers started while we waited for our friends. It was not very busy and yet we waited nearly 15 minutes for the waitress to even greet us. At this point she appeared bored/bothered by us, but not outwardly rude. Our drinks arrived via a very friendly bartender and our queso arrived 10 seconds after we ordered it by an extremely friendly food runner. When our friends arrived the waitress returned to take more drink and food orders. At every interaction the waitress would take my husband and I orders first in a very normal way and then when the next couple would try to order she ignored them and went to the other end of the table. She was very curt and rude with our friends, but acted very differently towards us. Our friends are a queer couple, and it was very clear that the waitress was treating them differently from the moment she began serving us. This was the most shocking and appalling treatment Iâve ever witnessed in a Tacoma restaurant. Overall, we saw her when we placed our drink orders and at the end when she came to collect our payment and her tip. Overall the food was decent, but for the price and the very obvious discrimination, we will never dine here again. We will take our business to Cactus on Proctor. The food is better, the service is outstanding, and we have never witnessed discrimination or mistreatment there.
I am extremely concerned that this restaurant is located in Tacoma and advertises pride events as well as hosts a weekly drag brunch, and yet employs waitresses who are hateful towards queer couples. Had this not occurred we would likely have given the restaurant another chance, but we will certainly not be dining here again, and will be letting everyone we know that this is not a safe place for queer people to dine. Unfortunately, I do not have the waitresses name, though she is in many photos on your restaurants social media. There are also numerous reviews, mentioning a waitress who appears bored or bothered by her customers and I can almost guarantee that this is the same waitress that took care of us. I hope that this will be addressed as the Tacoma food scene deserves better.
I celebrated my 68th B-Day here with fam!! We all absolutely luved our choices & had an amazing experience!! Will definitely be back!! :):)
Came in on a Friday night, when you walk in you have Poquitos on the left and Stadium Golf Bar on the right.
The wait for a table was about 15/20 min so we took to the bar. It was about 10 min until we were greeted at the bar after we sat, it was a Friday so we expected them to be busy.
We had the Poquitos & Purist Margarita, they were pretty flavorful. In my opinion the Purist was better tasting.
We ordered chips & salsa, not too spicy and the chips were nice and crunchy.
For dinner we had the Baja fish tacos and the barbacoa burrito.
Overall the experience was good, may swing by again after theyâve been open longer to give it another shot.
I came here to test it out for my birthday and it was good. The waitress was sweet and food was fast too (there werenât too many people at the time) but I think they would still do an outstanding job. Three of the areas they have are really nice. Iâm excited for my birthday. Itâs nice and neat here. Other people also came in here to ask for reservations.
My husband and son shared the carne asada and I had the nachos. The carne asada streak was more than enough for them and my nachos was more than I could eat. Others had complained about portion size but I thought it was perfect! Quality food and quality service. We'll be back! P.S. The berry margaritas are delightful!â„ïž
They were very accommodating with my special requests. I had the chopped salad with grilled fish (which was a special request, because the menu only allows you to add grilled chicken, grilled steak, or sautĂ©ed shrimp). My husband had the âŠ
